The tradition of English choral music is a primary means of worshipping and communicating with God. This music provides an extraordinarily beautiful language of praise that can take the listener beyond words and into an experience of the mystery of God – ‘the beauty of holiness’.
Every day in term time in cathedrals and college chapels around Britain, more than a thousand musically trained young choristers perform these uplifting services.
We believe music provides a path to spirituality that is accessible to everyone, and we know from the daily comments of passing tourists who drift into our Cathedral, that we are offering an experience that will stay with many people forever.
Those who give to the Trust are helping to ensure that the availability of this transcendental music continues to flourish at the heart of our cathedrals, and that future generations can both share in and benefit from it.
